SC Plaza is an innovative shopping center that represents an important segment in the economic development city of Mostar. It was opened on Bišće Polje, the main road M-17 in September 2020. It covers an area of 14,000 m2 and is built according to the concept of a retail park where each store has a separate entrance, with a rich content for visitors as well as the largest square in Mostar. Successful operation of a shopping center requires strategic organization of work, resource management, as well as standardization of its business processes. Successful and quality business as well as the profitability of the shopping center is reflected in the efficient management of resources, their usability and optimization of costs of the shopping center and its tenants. The company MIBO Komunikacije successfully implemented PME (Power Monitoring Expert), which improved the energy efficiency of the Plaza shopping center in Mostar.

CHALLENGE
The management of the Plaza shopping center originally wanted to diagnose the factors of consumption, reduce them and improve their business through energy efficiency, while maintaining the quality of service of the shopping center. The challenge in SC Plaza’s business was reflected in the high costs of air conditioning, determining the energy profile of each tenant, establishing a sub-billing system and automating the calculation of electricity and heat costs. The primary business goal of the Plaza shopping center was to identify shortcomings in the business, processes that require monitoring in the most profitable and high-quality way, while maintaining quality service. The goals of SC Plaza were: a reliable energy efficiency management system, minimizing consumption with the result of significant savings of non-renewable energy sources and active participation in environmental protection.
SOLUTION
The leading energy efficiency assessment platform globally is the Power Monitoring Expert (PME). The platform consists of three segments: Software core, communication infrastructure and measuring devices. We took the first step in monitoring energy efficiency in the shopping center by establishing a system for objectively measuring consumption. By implementing the PME, we achieved measuring the share of energy consumed per user or tenant of the Plaza shopping center. All measurements from the plant are acquired in the SQL database. Based on this measurements for any user in the network via the WEB browser are available real-time consumption overview, historical overview as well as consumption comparison tools. These tools are dashboards, trends, alarms and reports list.
